“A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” -Antoine de Saint-Exup’ery author of The Little Prince

I was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 17, 1983. I spent my days in a playpen at my parent’s auto-body shop in Malden, riding twenty five miles home every night in a red Ford pickup to a hilltop brick house in rural Boxford. I felt at home in the small town that struggled to balance its former bucolic identity, and the recent infestation of homogenous upper-middle class.

On the weekends we were homesteaders taming the frontier, finishing the house that was little more than drywall, gravel, and exposed wiring at the time of my birth. After school in the city, I rode old bikes to the convenience store, past weedy chain-link fences and broken glass with city kids near my parents’ garage.

I learned feminine handicrafts through library books, did lots of theater and music, and as the only child of a blue-collar craftsman I picked-up woodworking, electronics, auto body, and male pursuits like camping and baseball. I was sarcastic- half tomboy, half vintage Hollywood glamour, and known for my humor, zeal for choir, and realistic still lives.

At the Art Institute of Boston @ Lesley University, I learned new techniques like oil painting, figure sculpture, woodcarving, illustration, and computer design. I made close friends with photographers, designers and illustrators who influenced me greatly. I worked in the woodshop, and maintained the student gallery.

I graduated from the Art Institute of Boston in 2005, and since have taken continuing education courses in human anatomy, and web design.   Since graduating I have worked in various art related businesses; from furniture making to gallery assistant.

For over 2 years I have worked as Scenic Designer at Kidstock, a children’s theater company in Winchester, Ma.  Our facilities include a 200-seat theater, a black box theater, and several rooms custom painted for filming videos and small performances.  I paint large-scale murals in ordinary house paint on a tight schedule 5 days a week with no assistants.

I am also Personal Assistant to Susan Schwalb, known for her technique of abstract compositions in silverpoint.

I work from my studio in Cambridge, MA equipped with a woodshop, and ample parking.
